Recap
West Kirby U18s 3–3 Litherland Athletic Youth
The Youth Team battled to a well-earned point away at West Kirby with the bare 11 available.
Litherland started the brighter side but went behind after 15 minutes. Credit to the lads though — they didn’t let their heads drop and kept working hard. Charlie pulled us level on 25 minutes, cutting inside and finishing brilliantly into the bottom corner. 1–1.
The pressure continued and just five minutes before half-time Max struck from outside the box, finding the bottom corner with a superb finish to give Litherland a deserved lead at the break.
Second half and with legs beginning to tire, West Kirby pushed forward and equalised around the 60th minute. They had a big chance to go ahead but Deano pulled off a huge penalty save to keep things level.
The lads kept battling and were rewarded with a penalty of our own, which Evan calmly converted to restore the lead. Unfortunately, with 10 minutes to go West Kirby equalised after a collision in the box saw the ball fall kindly to their forward.
A strong point on the road — although it feels like it could have been more. With only 11 players available, the effort and attitude from the lads was outstanding. 👏
